Manufacturer equipment installation — sometimes labeled "MEI" in construction documents — is the electrical work of connecting commercial and industrial equipment exactly the way its manufacturer specifies: the right voltage, phase, conductor size, overcurrent protection and control interfaces from the cut sheet, not whatever happens to be nearby in the panel. MEI is simply a scope description, not a certification or credential.
Production machinery, CNC equipment, conveyors, packaging equipment, ovens, pumps, commercial kitchen equipment and mechanical equipment all arrive with nameplates and installation drawings that decide the job. We read those documents first, compare them to what the building has, and surface gaps in voltage, phase or capacity before the machine is on a truck — because manufacturer-specified equipment power is mostly coordination and timing between vendors, riggers and your operations team.
Manufacturer data and capacity review
The nameplate and cut sheet decide the installation: we confirm required supply voltage and phase against what the building provides, read the full-load current, and size conductors and overcurrent protection to the manufacturer's minimum circuit ampacity and maximum overcurrent protection values. Short-circuit current rating requirements and specific breaker or fuse types are part of the installation where the manufacturer specifies them.
The existing service and panel capacity get checked against the new load before anything is ordered — if the load pushes the panel past what it can carry, we say so before the equipment ships, with options like reallocating circuits, a subpanel or a feeder upgrade laid out.

Feeders, disconnects and motor connections
Installation covers the dedicated feeder or branch circuit, raceway sized for the environment, and a fused or non-fused disconnect located as required, with a transformer added to scope where equipment needs a voltage the building doesn't have. Three-phase and motor loads bring starters, contactors and overload protection matched to the motor, plus VFD supply and control wiring where specified.
Interlocks and safety switches are wired to the manufacturer's drawings and coordinated with the manufacturer or controls integrator — we install to their design rather than improvising around it. Phase rotation, control voltage and remote enable circuits get checked before startup, not after.
