Renovation work is mostly about what's already there. Conductor type, raceway condition, prior unpermitted alterations and unsupported equipment all change the scope, and finding an obsolete panel or aluminum branch wiring on day one is far better than finding it during cutover week.

Selective demolition and phased cutovers
Demolition in an occupied building is selective by necessity: circuits feeding areas that stay in service get isolated and protected, while abandoned wiring is removed rather than left for the next contractor to trace. Reuse is decided case by case — sound existing raceway is often worth keeping; damaged or undersized conductors usually are not.
A renovation plan is really a sequence of small outages. We define what each affects, when it happens and what temporary power keeps running in the meantime. Cutovers are scheduled for nights, weekends or planned closures, prepped in advance so the live window is short, and panel changeouts and feeder replacements get the most planning because they're the least forgiving.

Electrical demolition & make-safe
Demolition is where renovation projects get hurt, usually electrically — a demo crew cuts a live circuit nobody traced, or a 'dead' feeder turns out to be backfed. Before demolition starts, we trace and verify what's actually live, abandoned, or crosses the remodel boundary into areas that must stay operational, then disconnect and lock out equipment inside the work zone and protect circuits that remain in service.
Where demolition is phased in an occupied building, we coordinate with the demo contractor, GC, landlord and tenants on exactly what stays live and when, keep egress and life-safety systems operational through every phase, and close with a written record of what was removed, what remains, and what has to be re-fed.
